Sahayog Community Coordination
Network (CCN) is a not for profit professionally managed development
organization carrying the basic objective of promoting self-reliance
among the indigenous communities. The Project Area covers 726
habitations in Munchingput and Peddabaylu mandal of Paderu division,
Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh state in India. It is
located at distance of 200 kms from the city of Visakhapatnam.
Vision
We see an educated tribal community, where the members are aware of
their own needs, have the wisdom of weighing available options, and
indulge in conscious decision making, towards realization of their
aspirations.
Mission
To educate the poorest of the poor tribal community, living in the
interior and inaccessible habitations, to make them aware of the
opportunities present in every walk of life and consciously move towards
self-reliance.
Our Approach
CCN as a development organization has
always believed in involvement of professionals for development of
community through organizing people. Building and strengthening people’s
institutions is a powerful tool for achieving sustainable change. CCN
believes that while empowering the tribal community towards
self-reliance, a long-term presence of professionals for community
organization, transfer of skills, technical competence and building
linkages with various development partners is essential. CCN focuses on
building local community organizations through setting up teams of
committed tribal youth called Community Coordination Teams (CCTs). It
grooms these teams continuously to build them to become independent
entities over a period of time to implement various programs. Only an
integrated approach to development can bring a sustainable change in an
area that is so interior and community that is so primitive, where the
government delivery systems are not reaching effectively. Therefore the
focus of CCN is on three major areas viz., education, health and
livelihoods. Interventions in these arenas are carried out
simultaneously for a given community.
