Our Feature Plans For Next Five Years

Education: CCN will support eligible students to continue their education towards gainful employment. CCN would network with government and other organizations and involve local community to improve the access to quality education for all children in project villages by following initiatives.

  • Community Managed Model Primary Schools: Enrolling and ensuring attendance by all children
  • Day school For Meritorious children
  • Remedial and Coaching Center for higher studies
  • Bridge Course Camps for school dropouts

 Health:

 CCN plans to intensify its efforts in the field of health. On one hand, it plans to campaign for local management and prevention of certain common and prevalent diseases. On the other hand, it plans to strengthen curative services by working very closely with the primary health centers of government and coordinating referrals in cases emergency and long-term illnesses, connecting people to other hospitals in Paderu and Visakhapatnam. CCN also plans to build up financial support systems through arranging for health corpus funds and health insurances. The following initiatives are proposed:

 

  • Establishment of cluster level Community Health Centres (CHCs).
  • Establishment and training of health teams at cluster level.
  • Community Health Education
  • Coordination of referral services
  • Development of Model Health Villages (cluster level)
  • Health Insurance

 Livelihoods:

CCN plans to improve the tribal economy through improved interventions in natural resources like land, water and forests. The hills are covered by forests, which are the home of many species of minor forest produce and other herbal species, which hold high commercial value. These resources will be tapped systematically and organized effort will be made to market them outside through local groups and institutions in addition to promoting improved agricultural practices among the tribal community. Proposed interventions would include:

 

  • Promoting Lac cultivation and marketing support
  • Minor irrigation
  • Soil binding activities.
  • Drinking water cum farm development.
  • Demonstration farms for improved agricultural practices at cluster level

Plantation of non-wood forest produce (NWFP) and developing nurseries
